What Should Be On This Thing

Don’t bother sending me hate in the ask box – anon or not. I don’t respond to my mutuals on a regular enough basis for you to send me hate and think you’re going to get a response. I literally don’t even look in my ask box enough for it to psychologically affect me. If you put your name to it, I’m going to report you.

This page should be considered for adults only; viewer discretion is advised. Contains adult language, adult themes, and sexuality.

Basics About Me You Might Want to Know

  • Name: Amy, or Red

  • Age: An Adult™ If you are the kind of person who really needs a number, rest assured I am over the age of 25 but that’s all the information you’re getting. You do not get to know my actual age.

  • Sexuality: I am definitely Not Straight™ but I am extremely flexible with the label I will use for that. Frankly, I’m liable to pick whatever pisses exclusionists off most at the time; queer and pan are my favorite labels and I use them frequently for myself. I resonate with bi, and will use it interchangeably with pan for myself. After reading the Journal of Bisexuality for a bit I found some researchers using ‘plurisexual’ and I enjoy that one a lot, so you may see that in use.

  • Pronouns: I literally do not give a shit. By all accounts, I am a cisgender girl and I’m incredibly, super femme about this; but I’m one of these cis people that has done the gender questioning. If you were to ask me about my gender, I would tell you it’s ‘pink’. I have issues with calling myself a ‘woman’ and will not be upset at whatever pronoun you decide to use for me; yes, even masculine ones, which means you can't 'trigger' me by attempting to misgender me.

  • Chronically & Mentally Ill: This is not something I want people to have a lot of details of. Needless to say, between doctors and discussions with others I have a good conception of myself and what I ‘suffer’ with/from. On this blog I’ve been reasonably open about the IBS and the ADHD; those aren’t exactly a secret.

Spicy Discourse Opinions

ANTI:

  • Authoritarian – I don’t care if it’s on a personal level or a governmental level; you don’t get to tell me what to do, in any capacity. There are very few people I would allow to actually tell me what to do; if you think my ability to follow rules and get along in society somehow means I allow people to tell me what to do, you’re wrong. You’re not just wrong, you’re stupid. What is asked of you and what is the right thing to do are not always the same thing, and I have no problem doing what I believe to be right in the face of what is being asked of me. This goes from websites requiring me to turn off my adblocker, to fandom idiots telling me what I can/not write, to actual fascist governmental laws, and inappropriate/illegal workplace rules.

  • Bigotry – We don’t hold with no discrimination/hate over here. When the discussion is relevant, we listen to those from marginalized communities about their experiences and viewpoints. There will never be a time on this blog where someone is intentionally given less respect as a human being than they deserve; at a bare minimum the name and pronouns you want used will be used, and we don’t call people triggering slurs here. We don’t engage in the Oppression Olympics either; we don’t rate marginalized communities based on how much oppression they experience compared to others – we’re all in the same shitty ass leaking boat after all. We let marginalized people use whatever language they want to in reference to themselves and their experiences.

  • Capitalist – I don’t believe in a free market to start with, but I don’t think USAmericans even live under a free market anymore; the moment we decided corporations were people and were ‘too big to fail’ we did away with the last vestiges of a free market. I am not an anarchist and/or communist, but I do believe that there are good ideas to be had in those ideologies and I think a true solution will be an amalgamation of more than one ideology.

  • Censorship – I am unabashedly pro-fiction, and my stances on some of this go far beyond anti/proship discourse. Fiction affects thoughts and feelings, but it does not necessarily have a direct impact on reality. Fiction is value neutral; it is neither right nor wrong, good nor bad, legal or illegal, moral or immoral. Those are things humans assign to pieces of fiction, not things that are inherent to fiction itself. I am begging y’all to gain some media literacy.

  • Colonialist – I do believe in governments paying reparations, I do believe in the Land Back movement and giving stolen artifacts back to the countries & cultures they were stolen from. I also think that this is a complicated subject that can’t be reduced to black and white ‘rights’ and ‘wrongs’ and that we, all 8 billion of us, are going to have to learn to live on the same planet together. Pretending the idea of borders and enforcement of them is important is asinine, but everyone still deserves a place they can call home.

  • Conspiracy Theory – The problem with most conspiracy theories is that they’re extremely bigoted beneath it all, and they’re generally extremely disrespectful to the people who would have to be involved/have been involved in the incident being discussed. They also tend to be an insult to logic when you actually pick the argument apart. I don’t entertain them, because they’re not entertaining.

  • Harassment/Hate Speech – There's no reason to call another person a slur, bully them, send them gore/death/rape threats, sexually harass them, or otherwise act like a shitty asshole of a human being. No, calling yourself a slur is not hate speech, even if other people don’t like hearing the word; you can choose whatever words you want in reference to yourself alone.

  • Misinformation – I’m not stupid; I know that things change in the world. Nothing is static, and facts evolve as science, technology, and understanding do. What I am against is willful ignorance, the denial of legitimate science, and smear campaigns/callouts. I am against the deliberate spread of information known to be untrue, and I am against uncritical defense of said information. I am begging y’all to engage in some critical thinking.

  • Prison – BLM, ACAB, defund the police, all that good nonsense. I don’t like cops, and that started from personal experience; our prison system absolutely needs to be abolished on its face. Something needs to be done about Amendment 13, and I don’t think either ICE or the ATF should exist in any way, shape, or form. I believe in demilitarizing the police first and foremost. Unpopular hot take: the sex offender registry is also equally as broken and useless and should be completely done away with as well.

  • Psychiatry – The mental health system is just as broken, if not more, as the rest of the healthcare system. It needs more diversity, it needs more science/studies, and it needs to get over itself. Particularly, I think psychiatrists are overly-eager to medicate patients, when we don’t have enough information to know if that would be the best course of action. I wish therapy was more common and more integrated with drug therapy; I am pro-therapy, but I do recognize that there are bad therapists just like there are bad people in every profession.

  • Religion – This is addressing organized religious structures only. I fully believe that every and all organized religions, spiritual groups, ‘new religious movements’, etc. suffer from the same issues of power imbalances that any other hierarchical structure suffers from. I have no problem criticizing structures of power, nor do I have a problem criticizing ideology itself. I particularly have a good time poking fun at the Catholic Church, and I find blasphemy/heretics to be funny af.

  • Thought Crime – There is no such thing as a bad thought. There are thoughts that may be distressing to you personally, but like fiction thoughts are value neutral on their face. It is only within individual human frameworks that we judge our own thoughts as having some sort of moral imperative. You are not a bad person because you have intrusive thoughts; you are not a bad person for thinking about graphic violence against other people. It is only your actions that matter.

  • Trump – Okay, I’m pretty anti-politicians in general. I am a registered Democrat and tend to vote blue, but that does not mean I don’t have criticisms of leftist politicians, from Biden to Sanders. Human beings are not perfect and are corruptible by power, politicians are public workers that should not become celebrities or idealized, the way the USAmerican system works is weird, and every single president from George Washington until the end of time will commit ‘war crimes’. Period. That being said, I am quite anti-Republican/conservative in general, and I hold a particular hatred for both Ronald Regan and Donald Trump. Since the fascist Cheeto is still trying to run for office, I’m pretty loud about how much I hate the criminal bastard, but you won’t hear me hesitate to shit all over Regan’s legacy either.

Pro:

  • Body Positivity/Neutrality – What I am actually against is hating yourself; hating the body you live in does immeasurable damage to your mental health. This is also why (as you will see below) I am pro-making your body your own; whatever it takes to make you feel comfortable in your own skin. That being said, I am incredibly body positive for myself, and so reblog an awful lot of body positivity in general. I am working on reblogging more body-neutral kinds of posts, because I understand loving yourself is hard.

  • Choice/Bodily Autonomy – These two things absolutely go hand-in-hand. There are no exceptions for me; all human beings deserve full bodily autonomy. You alone (with doctor’s advice, if necessary) should have the final say in what happens to your body. People who get abortions are awesome; those who help others exercise their free choice in carrying a pregnancy are awesome. People who want to medically transition in any way are awesome, should be allowed to go just as far as they want to go, and should be free to make these decisions without interference from outside third parties. Minors who want to make medical decisions about their bodies are awesome; minors deserve full bodily autonomy, which means they deserve to make decisions about their bodies without the involvement of adult parents/guardians. Minors deserve the exact same doctor-patient confidentiality that adults enjoy; minors are much more able to consent to treatments than adults give them credit for and should be allowed to choose the course of treatment they want with doctor’s advice and without the involvement of a third party. We should not be doing surgeries on children who cannot consent, so I am typically against circumcision of babies and intersex corrective surgeries on people who haven’t asked for them. People who self-diagnose on any level, mental and/or physical, are awesome; if you’re fighting to have a doctor listen to you and validate the diagnosis you think you have you’re awesome and I love you. You deserve to be listened to and treated like a competent person who knows their body and not dismissed by an establishment that can’t be bothered. Body modification of all sorts is inherently awesome; dyed hair, piercings, tattoos, plastic surgery – you do you buckaroo you deserve to look exactly the way you want to no matter how ‘weird’ society thinks it is. It is literally your body and you deserve the right to do whatever the fuck you want with it – including taking drugs by the way.

  • Disability – There are no ‘bad’ disabilities to have. It does not matter how much help from other people you need to survive; you are a full human being deserving of minimum respect and human rights on that basis alone. Your disability doesn’t automatically classify you as ‘undesirable’ and those that push that narrative are ableist, full stop.

  • Faith – I honestly do not care how you practice your spirituality; I don’t care what God(s) you do or do not worship, and I do not care if you personally engage with organized religions or new age religious movements. My criticisms aren’t about you personally, and I believe humans would still have ‘religion’ even in the absence of the major religions of today. I think we innately strive for a connection to something higher than us, and I don’t fault people for taking that journey.

  • Inclusivity – I accept pretty much any self-identification; I may not understand it, but I’m not liable to judge you for that. I’m not a cop or a gatekeeper. I don’t believe that the way you can label yourself is somehow inherently harmful to other people; the logic doesn’t logic there.

  • Kink/Sex Work/Sex in General – Controversial opinion, apparently, but if you are a consenting adult, I literally do not give a shit what you do with other consenting adults. Surprisingly, I believe your personal life is none of my goddamn business. Yes, this includes even the ‘gross’, ‘violent’, or ‘illegal’ kinks that every other so-called sex positive leftist wants to demonize; as long as everyone is aware of whatever risk might be involved, you’re all adults, and you’re all consenting then there is no issue. I’m also very pro sex work; every reason to have sex is valid including ‘wanting money’. Sex as a human behavior is normal and natural; there is nothing ‘wrong’ or ‘dirty’ about attraction or sexual expression. All of that is religious rhetoric, hands down. Not engaging in sex in any way is also a valid expression of sexuality.

  • Mental Illness – Like disability, there are no ‘bad’ mental illness to have. I am pro-paraphile; I am pro-narcissist. I am pro-endogenic systems; I am pro-BPD. I am pro-psychotics. You are all still people; you deserve minimum respect and human rights on that basis alone. Your diagnosis doesn’t automatically classify you as ‘undesirable’ and those that push that narrative are ableist, full stop. Science does not know nearly enough about the brain for us to be making broad claims about people that live with any number of neurodivergencies.

  • Weed/Pot/Marijuana – I’m actually pro decriminalization of all drugs; drugs are like everything else – there is nothing out there that is so pure it can only help you and never hurt you. Everything has side effects. Some things are more dangerous than others, but I am for harm reduction not banning and criminalization. This being said, I personally do not consume hard drugs; I barely drink booze. In terms of what you’ll find on my blog, it’ll pretty much be 99% weed content and 1% alcohol. We do advocate for the legalization of marijuana.

Israel/Palestine:This should go without saying but murder of civilians, on any side, is a bad thing. One civilian killed by a terrorist attack is bad. One hostage taken is bad. One civilian killed in an airstrike is bad. There is no good civilian death; there is no justifiable civilian death in this conflict. I am no fan of either Israel or Palestine’s government; both Netanyahu and Hamas are bad actors, as are a bunch of the allies that have joined either side. Antisemitism and Islamophobia are both bad; there is no such thing as good bigotry. I agree with the majority of the world that believes in a two-state solution.Every President commits war crimes, Biden included, and yes both Biden and Trump would support Israel over Palestine. Biden, however, is the only one of the two calling for a ceasefire, because Trump would like to exterminate Palestine and hand it over to Israel (in addition to the other dictatorial things he has already told us he would do if he were re-elected.) So, if you want to argue that somehow these two positions are ‘exactly the same’ just know that you’re stupid and I hate you. Some of you people have absolutely lost your mind about this subject, so you won’t see me engage with posts regarding the subject much on this blog. This is a happy place for me.

  • People are the gender they say they are. Doesn’t matter what they look like, and it doesn’t matter how incongruous or weird you think the gender label is.

  • All trans people, no matter how they identify, experience transphobia. However, depending on what other intersections trans people reside in, they will have unique experiences of their own relating to these intersections. Transandrophobia is just as real and relevant as transmisogyny, nbphobia, and exorsexism. Oppression is about perception, and less about actual identifiers.

  • Nonbinary does not mean ‘cisgender lite’; nonbinary people are not some variant of the binary sexes. Nonbinary people are nonbinary regardless of what they look like; please refer back to the first point on this page. Nonbinary people can have any agab; anyone who wants to be inclusive of nonbinary people should remember this.

  • Nonbinary people don’t owe you androgyny either.

  • Neopronouns are not only valid, they are radical af and are definitely helping to destroy the binary gender as we know it.

  • Asexuals, aromantics, demisexuals, and everyone else who considers themselves part of the greyscale, no matter the label, are inherently LGBT+. Our society expects both romantic and sexual attraction by default; if you’re bucking that trend you are inherently bucking the system and therefore are welcome in the community.

  • The split attraction model is useful for whoever finds it useful.

  • MOGAI was a great acronym y’all are just babies.

  • In the same vein as the point on gender at the top – people are the sexuality they say they are, no matter how incongruous or oxymoronic it may appear. There is no sexual or gender label a person can take for themselves that is inherently oppressive to another sexuality/gender. Yes, this means mspec lesbians & gays are valid; this goes along with the gender thing because yes, she/her gays and he/him lesbians also exist. They have existed long before the discourse over their labels got popular. They will keep existing even if you scream, cry, throw up, and have a tantrum over it; your outrage won’t change the use of the label.

  • Every mspec label is valid; bisexual is not the only way to identify and the Bisexual Manifesto validates other labels besides ‘bisexual’. Every reason you chose your label is valid, even if the reason is as simple as you liking one flag over another. If you want to interchange the labels, go right ahead; if you find a distinction in one over the other that’s cool too.

  • Anyone can use ‘butch/femme’ as identifiers; it’s not just for lesbians. Arguing that point is ahistorical at a minimum; go watch Paris is Burning and familiarize yourself with ball culture.

  • The gay male pride flag isn’t ugly; y’all are just mean. There is nothing problematic about the pansexual flag; y’all were looking for a reason to cancel him because you don’t like that he validates bi/pan lesbians. I don’t care what version of the lesbian flag you like the best; no creator has perfect opinions. Please stop connecting liking a creation to endorsing every view of the creator.

  • Queer is a slur; so is: faggot/fag, dyke, lesbo, sissy, poof/poofter, fruit, twink, and fairy. Even the word ‘gay’ has been used as a slur, to say nothing of how the right has utilized the word ‘groomer’. Most of these words have been reclaimed by the community at large, including queer. It is perfectly acceptable to use these words for yourself, for your friends who embrace it, and for your community if they embrace it. Queer is not a special or different slur from the rest of them. Anyone trying to convince you otherwise is a psyop.

  • Queer is also used academically; if this bothers you, that’s a you problem and you need to learn to deal with that. More colloquially, people discussing the ‘queer community’ are usually discussing their queer community; if you consider yourself an assimilationist LGBT, then queers probably aren’t talking about you. Some of us don’t want to be normal, Karen, and embrace the fact that the larger populace considers them ‘weird’ and a ‘freak’.

  • Intersex: Intersex people are whatever they consider themselves to be. I am not a gatekeeper or a cop; I’m not here to force labels onto people. Some intersex people feel themselves to be trans, and some don’t; some consider themselves inherently LGBT+, because they are different from the binary cishetero society, but some don’t and that’s fine. Embrace whatever label feels right for you.

  • Transids: From most of my research, people with transids do not necessarily consider themselves inherently LGBT+; like a lot of other labels, transids may intersect with LGBT+ identities and that’s okay. There are a lot of reasons why someone may choose a transid; the labels themselves are not inherently ‘bad’. Bad actors should be judged on their actions and not their labels alone.

  • Paraphilias: Paraphilia is not inherently LGBT+, however there is a not insignificant amount of people who are LGBT+ who also happen to have paraphilias, and so it’s okay if this part of your identity entwines with that part. Much of my thoughts around paraphilias are covered by my thoughts on mental illness and kink – you are valid, you are not inherently a ‘bad’ person for having a paraphilia, and as long as any necessary consent is obtained I honestly do not give a fuck what people do with their lives.

  • Kink & LGBT+: If you have an understanding about the incredibly puritanical and sex negative culture that permeated the founding of America, and an understanding of the way the homosexuality and other ‘deviant’ sex practices were driven underground by Christian missionaries throughout the world, then you should be able to understand how both kink and being LGBT+ are two sides of the same coin when it comes to essentially sticking a middle finger up at all of that bullshit. The ‘no kink at pride’ psyops are people that refuse to unlearn that puritanical, sex negative, evangelical Christian cultural poisoning. I’d welcome a kinkster in a banana hammock over a cop at pride every single time.

Before You Follow

Anyone can interact – I am an adult; I do not have the time nor the energy to enforce some strict DNI. That’s for teenagers with too much time on their hands. However, I understand these things also act like a warning to other people, who may want a quick way to see if someone would be hostile to engagement. So, this is what that is.

  • I prefer engagement with those over 18. This has nothing to do perceptions of maturity/immaturity, nor do I think older people and younger people shouldn’t be friends. To be extremely clear: I follow and reblog from a lot of sex workers who still exist on this site, and they cannot legally interact with minors. If you are a minor and I catch you following me, I will softblock you. I try not to follow minors, but I don’t do more than a cursory check for proof of adulthood. I will not insist you drop your privacy for me; you don’t need to give me a number, just some indication that you’re a legal adult.

  • If you’re pro-capitalist, a believer in the free market, or go around defending billionaires you’re probably not going to like me much.

  • The edgy folks – those who are openly and proudly garden-variety racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, antisemitic, ageist, xenophobic, fatphobic, etc.? Go away, no one’s going to engage with your childish antics here.

  • If you’re a fascist, nationalist, neo-Nazi, Lost Cause Confederate supporter, QAnon, incel, or any other far-right extremist not mentioned here you can also go away. I don’t feed the trolls and I don’t ‘debate’ with bad faith actors.

  • If you’re not an edgy radical, but you are: pro-Trump, a conservative/Republican, a libertarian, a neolib apologist, TERF/SWERF/radfem/ ‘gender critical’, a transmed/truscum – you’re also not going to like me much, but I probably am more willing to engage with you in good faith. Your rhetoric all has the same basis and a lot of so-called leftists uncritically parrot conservative talking points but try to use a progressive coat of paint. I am willing to engage in these discussions occasionally.

  • Those that are anti-kink, anti-sex work, or sex negative in any way probably won’t want to be friends with me. Yes, I include all the kinks that the other leftists leave out. This blog often contains sexualized content. We’re horny around here thanks. There is nothing wrong with that and you cannot shame me into believing otherwise.

  • I don’t care what mental issues you struggle with, or what physical issues either, but if you are anti-recovery or pro-self-harm (pro-cutting, pro-ed, etc.) don’t come around here. I understand recovery is hard and people backslide but anyone encouraging damaging behaviors is someone I don’t want to get to know.

  • One of the things not covered in my discourse page is eugenics; suffice it to say I don’t hold with eugenic rhetoric. It’s not a joke or a shitpost; you’re not cute or clever for suggesting that people you don’t like should somehow be removed from human society (including 'pedophiles' and 'rapists' btw.)

  • Hardcore conspiracy theorists and science deniers will have a hard time interacting with me. Since people across the political spectrum can fall victim to a conspiracy if they’re primed correctly, this is separate from the other categories. I have found that most conspiracy theorists and science deniers of all stripes truly believe their bullshit, and generally want to interact in reasonable good faith, which is fine. Just be prepared to defend your position and answer the questions posed to you without devolving into personal attacks (nearly impossible challenge).

  • Exclusionists/gatekeepers should probably just block me and move on. I don’t play identity politics, and I’m not a supporter of assimilation. I don’t believe you when you say that you’re ‘keeping our spaces safe’; there is no amount of bullying, harassment, or policing that makes a space ‘safe’. There are no ‘imposters’ in the community that you have to root out; that idea is incompatible with acceptance of people who are questioning their gender/sexuality. If a resource is going to a person who genuinely needs the resource, then it’s not theft/fraud; if you really want to talk about LGBT+ resources being ‘stolen’ then you need to be focused on the way governments (including governments in ‘progressive’ countries) continually try to: undercut funding to those resources, shut down resource providers, propagate the idea that the resource is actually unneeded/unnecessary, and use the slightest perception of misconduct to fuel the aforementioned actions.. Basically, if you disagree with anything on my inclusivity page I’ll consider you an exclusionist/gatekeeper and call you out for being a fed.

  • Aside from the edgy people, if you are a sysmed (you think dissociative identities can only be formed through trauma), you’re anti-paraphilia, you’re one of these people that demonizes psychotics/narcissists/those with BPD/etc., or you go around looking to root out ‘fakers’ – you are a special brand of ableist asshole that I absolutely cannot stand. You try to parrot some of the most dangerous rhetoric there is, and then whitewash it like you’re somehow being ‘progressive’ with your shitty views. In the kindest way possible, just fuck all the way off.

  • Be aware! I do actually think you are an objectively bad person if you consistently (as in, this is a lot of your identity/time spent) partake in the following behaviors: hiding subjective opinions about a piece of media under the guise of being ‘critical’ of it, believing in cringe culture/making fun of the fans of media you find cringy, believing in/attempting to gatekeep media from new fans, believing in ‘irredeemable’ media, or attempting to use the ‘morality vs legality’ argument in debates over fictional depictions. Yes, legality and morality are two separate things. One is not more indicative of a person’s personality as the other, because morality is: subjective, contextual, and cultural, among other factors. Morality, like all of life, is neither static nor unchanging.

  • I do think you are a disrespectful and annoying person if you consistently partake in the following behaviors: petitioning for media to be removed because of subjective feelings about its content, fandom activism, AO3 ‘criticism’ that is just disguised censorship rhetoric, or believing that fictional people can have human rights/believe that violent things happening to characters is equitable to a real person being hurt.

  • However, you are literally The Worst kind of person if you engage on any level in the following behaviors: harassing people for what they enjoy/ship/write/draw, suicide baiting (telling people they should kill themselves in any way, for any reason), actively shaming people for what they write/draw/ship/enjoy, encourage the shaming, bullying, and/or harassment of people & espousing that it’s good for them despite the mountain of evidence suggesting otherwise, threatening violence over donations to AO3 – to AO3 staff/volunteers or to donators themselves, shaming people for the way they spend their money (doubly hate when this is done in conjunction with begging), you write and/or reblog callout posts (doubly hate when this is done without ever bothering to check the information contained within), believe allegations of ‘pedophilia’ and other serious crimes are substantiated by the fiction people consume and/or how they engage with fiction, make allegations of ‘pedophilia’ and other serious crimes based on the fiction people consume and/or how they engage with fiction, think sending gore/illegal material to people you disagree with is acceptable (extra hate if you dismiss your bad behavior by using the ‘pixels on a screen’ argument).

Look, I’m not stupid. I know how to use the block button if you piss me off. This is for you guys, not for me.
